Cub Scouts of America in Istanbul


                                                                                       

 

We meet on Tuesdays, 4:30-6:00pm in Rumeli Hisari

Two Tuesdays each month and one Saturday or Sunday a month during term time

We normally have one overnight family Camp in the Autumn and Spring 


 

 

 

Cub Scouts in Istanbul is open to any boy ages 6 (first grade) to 11 (5th grade)who holds a foreign passport and is able to participate in activities in English. Turkish citizens are encouraged to check out the Türkiye Izcilik Federasyonu at http://www.tif.org.tr.

 

Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts offer a wide range of activities including hiking, physical fitness, citizenship, public service, collecting and much more. Here are a few of the things we have done over the years:

Hiking

First Aid Training

Bosphorus Marathon Bridge Walk

Fishing, Bird Watching,

Bowling, Kick Ball, Flag Football, Table Tennis, Ultimate Disc (Frisbee), Ice Skating

Beach and Neighborhood Clean Up

Visits: Recycling Plant, CNN Studios, PoliceStation, Dialogue in the Dark

Istanbul BILGI University Santral Museum of Energy, Sabanci Museum

Yildiz Fire Station and Bebek Children's Services Police Station

Arts and Crafts


Parents are invited to attend the meetings and are essential in working with their sons to help them through the achievements for each rank. Scouting is a family-oriented program where parents, kids and leaders work together to achieve the 10 purposes of scouting. 

2016 - 17 fees are $300 for new Tiger, Bear and Wolf Cub Scouts and for Webelos requiring a full new uniform, including Class A shirt, badges, neckerchief, slide, cap, belt and handbook, and Class B pack t-shirt and all shipping and handling. These are flat fees for any portion of a year, since they mostly cover our registration fees. They also cover: belt loops and badges, insurance and some supplies for activities. Specific items and prices can be seen on scoutstuff.org. We order them via our Council in Germany.
