Pack 516

Pack 516 Pack 516 is based in Longview, Washington.  We are a Cub Scout pack for children in 1st through 5th grades and are chartered by Emmanuel Lutheran Church with the Boy Scouts of America.  We have young people from various parts the Longview/Kelso area in our pack, but have close ties with Columbia Valley Gardens Elementary School in Longview.

Cub Scout Pack meetings are the 3rd Tuesday of each month throughout the year at 6:30 pm at Columbia Valley Gardens Elementary in the gym during September through May and at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in June through August.  Pack meeting are for the entire family to participate and have a great time playing and learning together.

Den meetings are separated by age and are specialized to meet the interests and skill level for their specific group.  Den meeting are typically once a week, often with one of them being an outing to a place of interest that matches the theme of the month or what the children have been working on.  Each den chooses the day and time of their meetings.

The pack participates in several service projects throughout the year, including Walk and Knock (Scouting for Food) and Goodwill Good Turn.  We also enjoy joining in local parades: Longview at Christmas time and the Fourth of July.  The highlight of many of the scouts year is summer camp.  And of course, we also hold an annual Pinewood derby that many boys enjoy.

Scouting definitions to help you:

Cub Scout Den:  The group of boys all in the same age range/grade that meet weekly.
Cub Scout Pack:  All of the dens combined form the pack.  The pack meets once a month.
